Moving around the city centre with bundles of gifts couldn't be easier with the freecitybus service running every few minutes from 6.30am to 7.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays. This Metro service connects the rail and bus stations, business and shopping districts, Leeds General Infirmary, the universities and Park Lane College.

Boxing Day

Good news for bargain hunters! Buses will be running on Boxing Day to Leeds and Huddersfield approximately every half hour from 9am to 6pm on main routes.

Taxis

Taxi Marshals

Taxi marshals will be in the city from November from 11pm -3am every Friday and Saturday night all the way through Christmas and New Year, including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

There will be three taxi marshalling points; Outside Tiger Tiger night club; New Station Street Taxi Rank (outside the train station) and Call Lane Taxi Rank (near the Corn Xchange.)

Park and ride

If you’re planning a Saturday visit to the city centre for Christmas shopping, why not take advantage of our free Festive Park and Ride Service from convenient and secure sites around the city?

Park and Ride car parks are located on Woodhouse Moor on the A64, and on Burley Road at the back of the Yorkshire TV building (both locations are well signposted.)

The service includes free supervised parking and free express non-stop bus travel to the city centre, running every 10 minutes between 09:30 and 18:20 prompt:

Leeds city centre contains five miles of pedestrianised streets, and a large number of covered arcades and shopping centres, so walking is often the best way to get about.
