The shopping quarter in Leeds is quite compact, which means you never have to walk too far - and there are lots of great cafés and restaurants if you do want to take a break!

Many shops in Leeds stay open as late as 10pm in the lead up to Christmas.

A visit to Christkindelmarkt is the ideal way to chase away those winter chills. Now in its 7th year, it is one of the largest and best established German Christmas markets in the UK where you can relax with a warming mug of Glühwein or a traditional German Bratwurst whilst browsing the fantastic range of goods on offer.
Christkindelmarkt is open every day in Millennium Square from 10.30am, between Friday 14th November and Sunday 21st December.

Leeds Farmers Market
And why not bring a taste of the country to the Christmas dinner table this year by visiting Leeds Farmers Market? Held at Kirkgate Market on the first and third Sunday each month, it offers fresh meat, seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh eggs, home made cakes, jams, chutneys and lots of other festive treats. Take in all the wonderful sights and smells, and pick up some free samples to really whet your appetite.
The dates for the festive season are: Sunday 16th November, Sunday 7th and 21st December

Otley takes a step back to the Victorian era as the main roads are closed to accommodate children’s rides and amusements, street organs, a miniature railway, Morris dancers, choirs and wide range of traders selling Christmas goodies. Victorian fancy dress is optional but encouraged!
