Christkindelmarkt

Christkindelmarkt
German Christmas Market
Millennium Square
Leeds

Friday 16th November to Thursday 20th December 2007

A little piece of Germany comes to the heart of Leeds, as around 40 traders from the city of Frankfurt set up stall in Millennium Square for the annual Christkindelmarkt.

A visit to Christkindelmarkt is the ideal way to chase away those winter chills. Now in its sixth year, it is one of the largest and best established German Christmas markets in the UK, where you can relax with a warming mug of Glühwein or a traditional German Bratwurst whilst browsing the fantastic range of goods on offer.

The little village of traditional wooden chalet stalls springs up in Millennium Square in mid November, selling a wide variety of handcrafted gifts, toys, festive decorations, speciality foods and tempting delicacies. The beautifully crafted 'Frankfurter Scheune' authentic Bierkeller provides a buzzing centrepiece and there is a Christmas funfair too, with a festive carousel, dodgems and a variety of small children's rides.
